“No One Can Remove Me”, Say Sanusi Lamido

Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi talk back to president Jonathan . The last has obviously not been heard about the wrangling between the President and the Governor of the Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Street Journal had earlier reported that the President had directed that the CBN Governor should proceed on terminal leave, which would see him leaving office before the actual expiration of his term of office.

Findings revealed that apart from his characteristic gaffes and the alleged “misinformation of Nigerians, Sanusi drew the ire of his employers when the letter he wrote to the President on the un-remitted $ 49.8 billion accruing from oil sales leaked. It was strongly suggested that Lamido leaked the letter to former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Lamido has however denied being responsible for the leaked letter.

Street Journal’s findings also revealed that the CBN Governor bluntly told the President that he would not resign as that was not part of his terms of agreement when he was taking the job. He also made it clear that
he cannot be removed without the ratification of at least two-thirds of the ,members of the Senate.

As the CBN Governor has made it clear that he intends to hang on till June when his term expires, investigations have revealed that meetings are already being held in the Presidency on the next move concerning the Apex bank’s Governor.
